Working together to shape the future of medical technology for human and veterinary medicine
The centre’s establishment builds on Dr Jakob Winter’s interdisciplinary experience. As a veterinary surgeon, he has been involved in various research projects, focusing, amongst other things, on animal welfare and health research in an international context. He currently works at the University of Greifswald in the Centre for Research Funding and Transfer, where he is involved in managing the T!Raum initiative ‘One Health Region Vorpommern’. His professional career combines scientific research, grant management and the coordination of complex collaborative projects, with a particular focus on the interfaces between human and veterinary medicine.
It is precisely at this interface that the new Steinbeis company comes into its own. It provides support in the evaluation and further development of innovative ideas, assists with funding and ethics applications, develops scientific and clinical study designs, and advises on regulatory requirements. In addition, the transfer center takes on tasks relating to consortium coordination and the establishment of partnerships for development, manufacturing and marketing. A particular focus is on the One Health approach, which considers the health of humans, animals and the environment as a unified whole. The aim is to translate promising innovations into practice more efficiently, thereby strengthening the transfer of knowledge between research, clinical practice and application.
