Special Prize Winner Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hermann Kull
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hermann Kull has been awarded a special prize by the Steinbeis Foundation for his outstanding achievements as a consummate engineer and head of the Steinbeis Transfer Centre for Systems Engineering / Automotive.
Hermann Kull studied electrical engineering and computer science at the University of Stuttgart. He began his academic career as an assistant at the Institute for Power Electronics at the University of Stuttgart. After completing his PhD, Hermann Kull worked in industry for many years. Since 1988, he has been a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences.
In 1995, Hermann Kull founded the Steinbeis Transfer Centre (STZ) for Systems Engineering / Automotive, which he continues to lead successfully to this day. The STZ offers clients and project partners from the automotive sector, amongst other things, technical consultancy and development services in engineering, e-learning and software development, as well as training courses. There is a particularly successful collaboration with leading car manufacturers and suppliers in the field of electronic diesel injection control for vehicle engines. New areas of focus, such as exhaust after-treatment and diagnostic systems, have been developed. Hermann Kull has recently achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification for his STZ.
Alongside the remarkable growth of his Steinbeis Transfer Centre, Hermann Kull has also had to overcome critical and adverse business challenges. He has risen to these challenges and steered his company to lasting success.
Steinbeis honours Hermann Kull’s long-standing contributions to the Steinbeis network, as well as his commitment as a university professor, with the Steinbeis Foundation’s Transfer Prize – the Löhn Prize.
