Steinbeis Foundation for Economic Development (StW)

The non-profit Steinbeis Foundation for Economic Development (StW) is the umbrella organization for the Steinbeis network. Founded in 1971 and based in Stuttgart, the foundation promotes knowledge and technology transfer through a wide range of activities.

Steinbeis GmbH & Co. KG für Technologietransfer

Steinbeis GmbH & Co. KG für Technologietransfer (StC), founded in 1998, and its subsidiaries are responsible for all of the foundation's economic activities, particularly the transfer of entrepreneurial knowledge and technology. Its implementation activities focus on designing entrepreneurial transfer processes, in particular through company building, as well as coordinating and providing organizational support to Steinbeis companies based on the Steinbeis brand.

The Steinbeis companies form the heart of the network. Mostly originating from the university environment, these innovation service providers stand for actively practiced knowledge and technology transfer par excellence with their outstanding competence and expertise.

Steinbeis-Edition

Steinbeis-Edition is the publishing house of the Steinbeis Foundation. Since 2004, it has been publishing specialist publications by experts from the Steinbeis network, thereby helping to bring the latest findings from science and technology to the public and into business practice.

Ferdinand-Steinbeis-Gesellschaft and -Institutes

As a non-profit subsidiary of the Steinbeis Foundation, the Ferdinand-Steinbeis-Gesellschaft für transferorientierte Forschung gGmbH promotes cooperative and interdisciplinary research with its Ferdinand Steinbeis Institutes in Stuttgart and Heilbronn. Here, too, the goal is to translate the knowledge gained into concrete implementation and application in business and society.

Founded in 1998, Steinbeis University conducts research on application-oriented problems and, based on its unique “project competence concept,” offers career-integrated, part-time, and practice-oriented study programs with state-recognized degrees.

Steinbeis cooperation with universities

Steinbeis cooperates with universities throughout Germany to establish a successful transfer under private law in addition to the transfer of knowledge and technology from university spin-offs. To this end, we have founded joint transfer companies with several universities:
