Changes to this privacy policy may become necessary due to the further development of our website or new technologies. Steinbeis therefore reserves the right to amend its privacy policy at any time in line with current developments.

Data processing when visiting the Steinbeis website

Every time you visit a website, data is collected and exchanged. When you visit our Steinbeis website, the Steinbeis server automatically collects and temporarily stores the following information in the server log files, which is transmitted by your browser:

  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • File request from the client
  • The website from which you are visiting us (referrer URL)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used by the requesting computer
  • Name of the website accessed
  • File, date, and time of access
  • Amount of data transferred
  • Notification of successful retrieval

Steinbeis evaluates the data for statistical purposes only, for example to measure demand. The server log files are not evaluated on a personal basis. The data cannot be assigned to specific individuals by Steinbeis. This data is not merged with other data sources. After statistical evaluation, the data is deleted again.

We store your data on a project-related basis only for as long as is necessary to provide our services or for verification purposes, or if we have a legitimate interest in further storage. In all other cases, we delete your personal data with the exception of data that we must continue to store in order to comply with legal obligations. Newsletter

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on the website, we need your email address and other information. This allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. To ensure that the newsletter is sent with your consent, we use the double opt-in procedure. This allows the potential recipient to be added to a distribution list. The user then receives a confirmation email giving them the opportunity to confirm their registration in a legally compliant manner. Only when confirmation has been received will the address be actively added to the distribution list. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and offers. The newsletter provides regular information about the publication of the Steinbeis Transfer Magazine, current projects and news in the Steinbeis network, and/or current events.

We use Brevo as our newsletter software. Your data will be transmitted to Sendinblue GmbH (hereinafter referred to as “Brevo”). Brevo is prohibited from selling your data and using it for purposes other than sending newsletters. Further information can be found here: https://www.brevo.com/de/legal/termsofuse/

You can revoke your consent to the storage of data, your email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.

Data protection measures are subject to technical innovations. For this reason, we ask you to inform yourself about our data protection measures at regular intervals by reading our privacy policy.

Use of YouTube plugins

This website contains at least one plugin from YouTube, which belongs to Google Inc., based in San Bruno, California, USA.

When you visit pages on our website that contain a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which specific page of our website you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account at the same time, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. Google Web Fonts (legitimate interest)

This site uses web fonts provided by Google to ensure uniform font display. When you visit a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display text and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Google's servers. This allows Google to know that this website has been accessed via your IP address. Google Web Fonts are used in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offerings. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used.

Further information about Google Web Fonts can be found at developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

Steinbeis does not disclose your personal data to third parties. Notwithstanding this principle, disclosure will only take place

  • within the scope of your consent
  • if the transfer is essential for the implementation of offers or services that you wish to use
  • if a subcontractor employed by Steinbeis to provide the offers or services requires the data and uses it for a specific purpose
  • within the scope of fulfilling legal obligations to authorities entitled to receive information

Liability for web links

Our website contains web links to external third-party websites over whose content we have no influence. These are external offers whose content we expressly do not endorse. The respective provider or operator of the linked pages is always responsible for their content. The linked websites were checked for possible legal violations at the time of linking. No illegal content was found at the time of linking.

Standard periods for data deletion

Certain retention obligations and periods apply due to legal provisions. After these periods have expired, the corresponding data is routinely deleted. Otherwise, personal data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or the legal basis for data processing no longer applies (e.g., due to the revocation of consent).
