Steinbeis in China
Official website of Steinbeis ChinaFrom its origins in the 19th century to today
Today, Steinbeis is active worldwide in knowledge and technology transfer through its network. The foundation for this was laid by Ferdinand von Steinbeis, after whom the foundation is named, back in the 19th century: entrepreneurs thanked him for his commitment to promoting economic development with a financial contribution that made it possible to establish the first Steinbeis Foundation in 1868/69 to promote vocational training for young people.
The non-profit Steinbeis-Stiftung für Wirtschaftsförderung (StW), founded in 1971 and still active today, forms the umbrella organization of the Steinbeis network. An independent board of trustees made up of representatives from business, science, and politics defines the principles of the foundation's work. The foundation promotes knowledge and technology transfer through a wide range of activities. The Steinbeis-Edition publishes specialist publications by our experts. The foundation uses the Steinbeis companies for the actual transfer.
The subsidiary Steinbeis GmbH & Co. KG für Technologietransfer (StC) is responsible for all economic activities in knowledge and technology transfer. This is also where the formal threads come together for the competence network of around 1,000 independently managed Steinbeis companies.
The partners of the Steinbeis network include franchise companies for the development of foreign markets as well as start-ups and companies in which we have participated for the strategic promotion of knowledge and technology transfer.
