Contact Katja Wolter

Katja Wolter is fascinated by structural issues relating to the origins of co-habitation in society and the influence of life experiences, which shape or re-shape people and thus characterize them. Her canvasses capture the surfaces and structures of her surroundings, plus imprints of counterparts. Wolter mixes the colors of the Baltic Sea sands to add a flavor of home to her works. Pictures become objects, objects become pictures. In her latest pieces, Wolter experiments with imprints and impressions that epitomize the coming together of people, their common experiences and thus the impressions that stay with people for life. This is linked to the question of how individuals interact with others in a partnership, in groups, and in happenings around them.
