The purpose of the enterprise lies in knowledge and technology transfer, transcending different stakeholders within and among universities, thus fostering sharing between the scientific community and, in particular, small and medium-sized businesses in Baden-Wuerttemberg. To this end, the enterprise organizes theme-centric, legally non-independent centers of transfer and innovation, also facilitating their establishment through the provision of research services at universities, as well as development, consulting, and support services.
The enterprise supports universities with their key task of promoting knowledge and technology transfer between science and academia on the one hand, and business on the other. The enterprise aims to facilitate efficient, private transfer transcending different stakeholders, within and between universities, in ways that deliver advantage for all parties. To this end, the enterprise will make use of the research and transfer potential offered by universities in order to develop this potential for business, using proven instruments and the structures of applied research and competitive transfer.
The enterprise may also become involved in related areas and run all kinds of companies with a connection to the purpose of enterprise. It may also enter into shareholdings with other companies with the same or similar purpose of enterprise.
