  • The right properties in the right place: technically relevant functionalization based on micro and nanostructuring, especially with material surfaces and thin layers, laser structuring, laser interference metallurgy, laser cladding, ion beam technology,
  • Analysis, classification and simulation, including with complex material microstructures (metals, ceramics, polymers and composites resulting from these) in 2D and 3D, FIB/REM nanotomography, microstructure tomography, quantitative image analysis, atom probe tomography
  • High resolution damage analysis and target preparation
