Banking trends 21 – Results of the ADG Trend study 2010

Challenges in management of banks are more and more increasing. The financial crisis in 2007 has shown that and how the worldwide capital markets are interlinked. There are innumerable dependences between global markets and international financial and non financial players. Changes in this enormous complexly network have to be perceived as soon as possible to be able to take the right countermeasures.
Therefore Kring and Lister, School of Management and Innovation (SMI), Steinbeis University Berlin (SHB), analysed “trends in banks 21”. Five partial studies were made asking managers of cooperative banks about future developments.
The partial studies differentiated between the issues
- metatrends,
- management of banks,
- corporate sales of banks,
- production processes in banks and
- human resource management in banks.
Lessons learned from this are very exciting. The guiding principles of the business model of cooperative banks is issued by the results of the study. Cooperative banks are focusing on simple products. The answers illustrate how heterogeneous the world of cooperative banks seems to be. Many answers on eclectic questions will inspire the reader and draw interest to trend study 2011.
