The 2007 Steinbeis Day

The main theme of the last Steinbeis Day (held in the Stuttgart Haus der Wirtschaft on 5 October 2007) was the Steinbeis Network itself. More than 40 Steinbeis Centers exhibited, providing some fascinating insights into the management and technological expertise offered by the Steinbeis Network. The exhibition included a variety of projects past and present, research findings, a chance to talk to the experts, product innovations, state-of-the-art processes and ground-breaking business strategies.

A number of speakers also gave brief insights into current issues and challenges faced by Steinbeis consultants, showing the types of projects being worked on in management consulting, research and development, training and employee development, and evaluations and expert reports.

More than 500 people attended the prize giving ceremony in the evening. For the fourth time, the Steinbeis Foundation bestowed the Löhn Award in recognition outstanding projects in the field of knowledge and technology transfer. This year’s prize winners were Senator E. h. Dr.-Ing. Wilhelm Schmitt and Professor Jürgen van der List with the Steinbeis Transfer Center for Microelectronics in Göppingen. With a value of up to 60,000 euros, the Löhn Award is bestowed annually. The prize honors the achievements of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Johann Löhn, who as Chairman of the Board founded and developed the Steinbeis Foundation between 1983 and 2004.
